Comments My TNT delivery was made 2/18/09 in the midst of a snow squall & heavy traffic. From the start to the finish line TNT Transport was excellent. The communication & service from Mary the TNT transport coordinator, and Dewayne the delivering truck driver, was perfect, and the best a person could hope for and/or expect. TNT provided first class service all the way, gave 150% and went the extra mile (no pun intended). I am highly recommending TNT to my friends in the BMW Car Club of America community - bmwcca.org .

Comments I selected this company based on their references, both here and with the
BBB. Unfortunately that turned out to be a horrible mistake!

The original pick up date for my car was 12-21-05. Unfortunately, while they
say it was scheduled for that date, no one bothered to tell the seller of
the car that
was the day. After I reached the seller on the 21st and said that was the
day, he said he couldn't make it with no notice and the first date had to be
cancelled.
After the cancellation he asked if the move could be scheduled after the
Christmas holiday. The move was then scheduled for 12-28-05. I contacted the
seller the morning of the 28th and he said that no one had called him. I
contacted Tn'T and told them that someone had to call this man! They finally
called him and the pick up was confirmed and made.

After the pick up the car went to a 'terminal' where it sat for the next 12
days. Tn'T was unable to schedule a carrier, probably because all of the
carriers were going down I-95 with the snowbirds and not to the Atlanta
area. Any transportation company should have known this happens at this time
of year but evidently that fact went right over the head of the folks at
Tn'T. That this happened, is just another indictment of freight forwarders
and brokers. Use a company that owns their own trucks. It is hard to
emphasize this point enough!

After a call from their 'customer service' representative, Regina Read, I
became really concerned. She had arranged a Sunday pick up for my car but
that entailed leaving the car outside where anyone could have 'picked' it
up. The terminal person didn't do this because my car was a Mazda Miata
with a V-8 engine in it, and he knew the car would be gone if he left it
outside.
Now tell me folks, would you even want your regular family car to sit
outside of a Philadelphia terminal on a Sunday awaiting some carrier who
might or might not arrive? If you don't this to happen, then you need to
find
another carrier, because evidently these folks don't mind doing it!

Now comes the laugher. After I told them on Monday the 9th that if they
couldn't find a carrier by Wednesday afternoon the 11th, that I would fly
to Philadelphia and pick up the car and drive it to Atlanta myself, they
cancelled the contract. They did it by claiming that my car violated this
portion of the contract:
"Unless otherwise noted, all pricing is predicated upon vehicle being fully
operational and factory standard vehicle dimensions.". Ms. Read then states,
"As you have stated, this vehicle has been modified and therefore does not
adhere to the terms of our contract."

In the first place this portion of the contract concerned pricing and could
have been resolved by simply saying that I owed more money. The dimensions
of the vehicle were stock, changing the engine doesn't change the body.
Evidently these folks know cars about as well as they know carriers. You
don't think it could have been because they couldn't find a carrier to
fulfill their contract, that the fault became mine, do you?

My vehicle was operational and met all outside dimensions of a stock Miata.
In other words, it was a stock Miata as far as hauling is concerned. What
they did by claiming this was a violation of the contract, was to
potentially make EVERY modification that you might have made to your car a
possible reason for
invalidating your contract. Especially if they can't find a carrier. Add a
rear view mirror that isn't stock, then
you have technically violated their contract. There is another complaint on
this site that concerned vehicle modifications. It is apparent if you have
modified your vehicle in ANY way, you will want to take this interpretation
of dimensions into account and find another carrier.

As for keeping in touch, yes if you initiate the contact! The only company
initiated contact I had from them was when Ms. Read called me on Tuesday the
3rd to say they were 'actively searching' for a carrier. I also received a
call from her on Saturday morning the 7th, but that was after they ignored
my earlier emails, to say that her Sunday pick-up had fallen through. Thank
goodness for small favors.

As Tn'T says on their web site, is there really such a thing as a dependable
auto transport service? I don't know the affirmative answer to that question
but the negative answer is that it certainly isn't Tn'T.

There are others out there that are far better than Tn'T. Do yourself a
favor and find them.

Providers Response Tn'T has already responded to Mr.Beasley. Tn'T apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused. While Tn'T was not in violation of their contract, they demonstrated their agressive interest in customer satisfaction and provided Mr. Beasley with a full refund.

Comments We just wanted you to know that we hired your company to ship our car from California to Virginia this month and we were extremely happy with your customer service from the person answering the phone to the customer service representative who helped us with all of the specifics.
Alison was our customer representative in the beginning who set everything up for us, and after she moved to Oregon, we were assigned to Katheryn who did the rest of the follow up work with us and she was equally as helpful and professional as Alison was and we are very happy to do business with her. Both of these ladies’ customer service attitudes were superior to all others that we had come in contact with while searching for car carriers and they gave us so much information up front and answered all of our questions immediately and offered us more information on what to look for in car carriers, that they completely put any fears that we had to rest. Of course we checked your company with the Better Business Bureau and were happy with what we read so we said a prayer and hired you.
Thank you for taking care of the customer first. Thank you for all of the important information that you are so willing to give us when other companies leave you in the dark. We weren’t going to leave our car with any of those places because we didn’t trust them. Comments I am writing this letter to acknowledge the good deed your company did for me when your company transported my car from Houston, Texas to Joliet, Illinois in May 2004. This note is overdue because I was waiting to have access to an e-mail so as to share with the rest of the world about your rare act of honesty. In the absence of e-mail, I decided to just write.

What was that act that surprised and forced me to ask the question: Are there still such people who can be that honest? A family member drove my car a day before the car was picked up by your company representative. She left two thousand four hundred dollars cash in my car and forgot where she left it. I did not know about this.

When the car was delivered to me in Joliet, I was given this amount of money. I refused to accept the money because I did not put it there. After I got home, I called the family member who drove the car before pick up and told her about the money found in my car. She screamed and told me that she was looking for the money everywhere in the house, not remembering that she left it in the car. To my greatest surprise, the amount was released to me gracefully when I returned to Joliet.

I want to tell the world that Tn’T, Inc. is the best and most honest company in the auto transport business because of the rare honesty of its representatives. In addition, the car was washed before I picked it up. I particularly want to thank Steve (who saw the money) and Daniel (Steve’s boss) to whom he gave the money at Joliet location for their extraordinary act of honesty. They will prosper as their company prospers.

I have been recommending this company to friends who need auto transport service. I will continue to do so. Should I have need for your service in the future, I will not hesitate to come back, even if your cost is higher than that of other similar companies.

Comments This post is a follow-up to survey no. tnt.126. Company has listened to my comments and Gary Gioia has been instrumental in resolving this issue to my satisfaction.
I beleive that the issue was because of the fact that the damage was done at the same spot where there was a small scratch. However when I provided my arguments, Tn'T did an investigation and resolved the issue to my satisfaction.
I would suggest the company and service to anyone, as the delivery was prompt and on time. However, its best to take the pictures of the existing scratches in front of the shipping agent and get them signed. THis will avoid any confusion. Overall, I think Tn'T is a good company to work with.

Comments I'll save time for all of you - go find another cheaper transport company because TnT will thug you by charging more but providing poor service. The fact that they provide you rental re-imbursments and full repair refund (if you buy insurance from them) is a scam. I just have them move my new vehicle (Mazda6 2004, only 9K miles) from TX to OR. The guy who did inspection at origin was very picky (as he should have been) and noted every scratch which you can only see at a particular angle in sunlight. At the destination, my car had two deep gashes (which went all the way inside the plastic of the bumper) due to constant rubbing against the tag fastnening screws of the car parked behind - something very clear and was admitted by the delivering agent. Hilary Davis at TnT rejected the claim saying that there was scraches there when the car was picked up. She excused this claim by making no distinction between scratches and cuts in the bumber which was done during the transport. This is just not correct and any sane person can see the type of damage (which I provided her pictures for claim # 009505-72140) and see that these are not scratches, but the cuts from screws. I can see from close the octa-gonal impression of the screws in the surrounding area of the cut. So save your money and go with someone who at least not rips you off. I shipped my other vehicle (truck) with another carrier and paid less and got better service.
And you scums at TnT like Hilary, dont try to answer this post and "look resonable" in front of the readers - you just need to learn earn your living in an honorable way - I dont need you money, I earn of my each penny and want to avoid wasting my time with scum bags like you. Do everyone a favor and stop bragging about how good your service is as compared to others.

Providers Response It has been brought to the attention of TnT, Mr. Nesars comments regarding his dissatisfaction with the outcome of his claim. We apologize that the claim was not settled to his satisfaction. Year to date, TnT enjoys a 98% claims free ratio. However, when damage does occur, TnT takes the matter very seriously. A thorough investigation is performed and every avenue is pursued to ensure that the claim is completely and thoroughly investigated.

In reviewing Mr. Nesars comments, TnT would like to clarify his comment regarding (if you buy insurance from them you are entitled to a full repair refund). The service TnT offers, includes within their rates, complete coverage on the car while it is in the care and custody of TnT. Should transport related damage occur, the damages will be repaired with no cost to the client. There is no deductible. Transport related damage is a result of driver negligence and not the result of normal road use. The reason that this claim was denied was because on the inspection performed, which Mr. Nesar signed when releasing the car to TnT, it notes numerous infractions to the rear bumper as well as a rub mark. There are also 7 infractions to the driver side of this car, 6 infractions to the passenger side and 6 infractions to the front area/bumper. The pictures provided by Mr. Nesar appear to show damage in the same general area as seen on the origin inspection. Unfortunately, TnT cannot be held responsible for pre-existing damage. We do apologize that Mr. Nesar is upset with the outcome of his claim, but we hope he understands the reasoning behind our decision.

Comments I am writing regarding my car transport from Santa Clara, California to Plano, Texas in November/December 2004.

I first learned about TnT on this website and movingscam.com and I was impressed by the positive remarks. And that they actually respond to the complaints made on this website. However, to say that my experience with TnT has not met expectation is a huge understatement.

I went for the terminal-to-terminal delivery, thinking that it would cut down on cost and time.

The reservation was very easy and Sher was very helpful. We had arranged for drop off at their Santa Clara terminal on 11/22/04, and the delivery date Sher told me would be 12 days maxiumum (that would make it 12/4/04).

TnT actually gave me the wrong address for the drop off teminal. After calling the terminal I found out that they had moved couple of weeks ago. The drop off location was a bit shady, at this towing place next to a junkyard.

Then I waited for the delivery. Waited, and waited, and waited.

The delivery date was changed several times by TnT. Initially, the delivery date was set to be 12/8/04, from Sher. Now, this is 4 days later than the 12 day delivery they told me, but I figured with Thanksgiving they might be a little slow. So I cut them a little slack. On 12/2/04, I received an e-mail from Kathryn stating that my car will be delivered on 12/6/04. I was excited to have the car ready 2 days before its scheduled date. So I made arrangements to take off work to go to Plano to pick up my car. However, on 12/5/04, I called to track my vehicle and they said that my car was still sitting in Santa Clara. It has already been 14 days since I dropped it off (11/22/04). And they told me that that my car will not be delivered until 12/8/04. Boy, was I surprised to find out that my car has not moved an inch. But I had already asked for a day off from work. Since then, I have made several phone calls, and TNT representatives (different ones everytime) have all been wrong regarding my car's arrival date. Pushing the date back everytime, and not giving me a solid answer. Finally, I received a phone call on 12/10/04 from Ron in Plano regarding my car's arrival.

So depending on whose e-mail I read or believe, this arrival date is 2, 4, or 6 days late!! On top of that, there's the missed work day because of their mistake. All of the frustrations are not worth the savings in shipping this car. (they were slightly cheaper than DAS or FedEx, <$100).

Both the TnT website and the e-mails that I have received from Sher & Christine states that TnT is "proactive" in car rental, yet I never received a phone call regarding
the delay of my car nor the promise of a rental car. In fact, multiple e-mails regarding this matter was unanswered as well. I am thoroughly disappointed in my experience with TNT and never expected such a run-around from a company with good reputation on the different feedback websites.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. They will promise you all these things and sweet-talk you, or make up some excuse for my transaction, don't fall for it.

Providers Response In reviewing Mr. Schie's comments, it appears that Mr. Schie is owed an apology. He indicates in his comments that several of his emails were not responded to, he was given an incorrect address as to where he should drop off his vehicle and the estimated time for his vehicle to arrive continued to change.

Tn'T recognizes how critical communication is with their clients. As result, we appreciate Mr. Schie bringing this to our attention. TnT will definitely look into this matter and see why and how this happened as well as what can be done in the future from having this happen again.

On 11/1/04, 21 days prior to Mr. Schie dropping off his vehicle at our terminal, he had been advised in an email as to when he might expect the arrival of his vehicle in Plano, Texas. Our computer shows that the estimated arrival date was 12/8 not 12/4. During the time Mr. Schie's vehicle was in TnTs care and custody, the driver's plans did change on several occasions. However, TnTs guarantee is getting the car to destination, not a guarantee with the current plans we have with the carrier. In the transportation industry things occur that can affect the drivers plans. However, what is critical is keeping your commitment to get the car delivered as promised. That is why TnT has their Rental Guarantee that provides a rental in the event a vehicle does not arrive by the last day of we had indicated. By the time Mr. Schie received his vehicle it was 2 days late. As a result, Mr. Schie was monetarily compensated.

Providers Response Tn’T would like to first of all apologize if this client felt a lack of satisfaction in the way his order was handled.

This was a vehicle that was being shipped from California to Illinois. The person releasing the car in California was not the same person who would be receiving the car in Illinois.

The client from Illinois makes the above comment, “they” dropped the car off and everything was set for 9/08/04. The “they” he is referring to, is the person in California who dropped off this vehicle at one of our terminals. The car was dropped off on 9/8/04. On 9/7/04, the day before Tn’T took possession of this vehicle, our Transportation Consultant emailed the client in Illinois to say that the price he was paying to ship his car was predicated on the vehicle being fully operational and that it had maintained standard vehicle dimensions. Through out the process, Tn’T communicated with the person in Illinois since he was the person paying for the move.

On 9/8/04, when the vehicle was dropped off, our terminal in California contacted us to advise us that this vehicle had after market hydraulics. This now became a liability issue if we were going to ship this car on an open car carrier. The following day on 9/8/04, an urgent voice mail was left by one of our Transportation Consultants with the person in Illinois. The message indicated that due to the vehicle having after market hydraulics the vehicle could not be shipped on an open car carrier. The same day, 9/8/04, the client in Illinois was also emailed this same information. The client was also advised that due to the hydraulics, it would need special handling. Since Tn’T was not aware of this after market item and the vehicle now had to be transported with special handling, there would be an additional cost if the client were still interested.

On 9/10 Tn’T was contacted by the client in Illinois and was told the order had been cancelled. While there was a charge for our terminal handling the vehicle and doing an origin inspection, this charge was waived to the client who was paying. Tn’T absorbed this cost.

Summary
1) On 9/7/04, the day before the client dropped off the car at our terminal in California, the client was notified by email that the quote provided would be valid with the understanding that the vehicle was fully operational and was considered existing with factory standard vehicle dimensions.
2) On 9/8/04 the vehicle was dropped off at our terminal in California. Tn’T is notified by our terminal that this vehicle is not equipped with stock parts making it impossible to ship it on an open car carrier.
3) On 9/9/04, the client at destination is informed by both voice mail and email that we cannot ship this vehicle on an open car carrier due to the after market hydraulics that we were not made a ware of at the time the order was placed. We also informed the client in this message that since the vehicle needed special handling that we could still provide this service but at an additional cost.
4) On 9/10/04 we received a call from our terminal that the car had been picked up and later the client contacted Tn’T to advise that he had cancelled the order.
5) On 9/13 the client in Illinois called requesting a price to ship the vehicle through our Specialized Department.

Tn’T apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused either party. However, we feel that this did not happen due to any negligence on the part of Tn’T. Since there were two different people involved in this move, the person in California and the one in Illinois, perhaps there was a lack of communication between the two of them, which in turn may have contributed to the lack of information not given to Tn’T.

We hope the client has a better understanding of what took place and is now more comfortable with why Tn’T had to make the decision that they did.

I was very apprehensive about this big expense so I did my research and chose to go with Chicago-Express. I'm so glad I did because they were very efficient and got my car to Joliet from LA in 1 week, 4 days earlier than their guarantee date!There was no damage to my car and they cleaned it before I got it. Not only that, they helped me arrange the odds and ends with the rental car I needed, and they offer primary insurance with no deductible. They were also very easy to reach. If you happen to deal with Art, he's the man and knows the meaning of great customer service.

They provide primary insurance for the car during transport, which is very important - lots of other companies provide only secondary insurance and except your insurance company to be the primary insurance. Also, TnT offers a delivery time in writing, unlike many other companies.

Comments I have used TNT for 2 moves, one from MN to CO, then from CO to CA. Their prices are very competitive, the person on the phone taking my order was very nice, knowledgeable and professional. They were able to schedule my move on very short notice (2 business days). TNT was very flexible (except weekends) with drop off and delivery times. Comments After all the bad things I heard about auto transporters, I was very concerned about picking a company. Some of the ones I got quotes from had expired insurance and their licenses revoked and they were still giving quotes! We picked TNT because of positive comments and also because all of their information checked out, insurance, licensing, etc. Also, they were the only company who offer a guarantee for the arrival date. Their quote was right in the middle price-wise and the service was excellent! The car arrived 2 days early!! They exceeded our expectations! I would highly recommend!

The independent driver, Tommy, from "Bama Transport" was courteous, get it done attitude and handled my car with a great deal of care. He talked to me continuously about his safety techniques and showed me his procedures. I liked that.

I had done a Google search and got about a dozen quotes from the internet and then my daughter said that her friends had had success with TNT and I decided to call the company. In their sales talk they suggested to look at this feedback URL.

The big decision maker for me to select TNT was this site. It is like the feedback forum for eBay. Everyone has an opinion and can voice it here. Even the unfavorable comments were instructive because I could see how the company rep responded with their side of the matter. Very professional.

Also, from this site, I learned about the defn of "Acts of God". If a rock goes thru the window, they go thru a sand storm, a vandal shoots a hole in the side of the car, they do not insure you. These are "Acts of God" and are not financially responsible.

Is this an important issue or what?

I feel that there is a very high probability of any of these weird things can happen when my car is going across the country. So what did I do? I called my insurance company and requested 100% total comprehensive--it cost me $5 for six months. What cheap cost for peace of mind.

You should have full comprehensive for your car and the sales agent should be responsible and tell you that you should have that co-insurance.

Yes, I would quickly do business with this company again. And they aren't even paying me any money to say this.

Comments on the 4th of December, 2003 i called TnT and got a quote to move a dodge pickup truck from Evansville IN. to Portland OR. I went with the terminal to terminal to save money they told me if I deliverd the truck to the terminal the 8th of Dec. the transit time would be 12 to 16 days and they would send me a copy of the order the next day that did not happen.On the 10th of Dec. i received a copy of the order said my truck would be in oregon the delivery spread is 12/22/03 no later than 12/30/03 that did not happen.there communication is very poor i had to e-mail them to find out information.
On 1/18/04 I received my truck that made it 42 Days to get the truck deliverd to me. I would call this very poor service. on 1/08/04 after i sent them a e-mail to find out what was going on they finally made a offer to credit me $25.00 a day starting on 1/01/04 till it arrived in portland the driver all so offerd to deliver it to my house but the drivers truck broke down so I drove 30 miles to the truck stop where he was and picked it up.

Providers Response This client is correct regarding the service failure he experienced while transporting his vehicle with Tn'T. Tn'T never minimized what took place during the coarse of time we had this vehicle. This was a move that eventually had the attention of our Operations Manager, our Quality Assurance Director as well as our President. In reviewing this move, we were able to determine one major issue. At the time when we received this order, our Transportation Consultant failed to realize that due to the size of this vehicle there would be the need for special handling. Due to size, this vehicle is not typically moved on an open car carrier and could not go into a container shipped by rail. This issue was not discovered until after we took possession of the vehicle. As a result, the difficulty in trying to locate a carrier after the fact that was equipped to move it made it a real challenge. However, this was Tn'T's error, not the clients. Since Tn'T guarantees their transit times, we reimbursed the client $25.00 a day for each day the vehicle was late. Tn’T apologizes for the length of time it took to move this vehicle. However, Tn’T did comply with the Terms and Conditions of their Bill of Lading by providing the reimbursement for each day the vehicle was late.

Providers Response Tn\'T transported for Mr. Burton a 1996 Ford F350 from the state of Texas to Ohio. When Mr. Burton\'s truck was delivered, he did not take exceptions on his delivery to any transport related damage. However, Mr. Burton did call later into the office of Tn\'T and report a \"cracked windshield\". An investigation of Mr. Burton\'s claim was performed by Tn\'T\'s Quality Assurance Department. Mr. Burton submitted pictures along with estimates of repairs. We also had a copy of the inspection done when Mr. Burton\'s truck was picked up in Texas and delivered to Ohio. The carrier did note on the inspection at the time he arrived in Ohio that there was a \"chip\" in the windshield, not a crack. When the investigation was completed, the decision made was to deny the claim. The decision was made to deny the claim not because Mr. Burton did not take exceptions at the time of delivery but it was denied based on Tn\'T\'s Bill of Lading. The Bill of Lading states in par!
t \"Automobiles are designed for road use and may acquire small scratches, scuffs and abrasions. Tn\'T as a carrier cannot be liable for minor damage of this nature which is considered to be the result of normal wear and tear\". The pictures Mr. Burton also sent at the time the investigation was handled, did not disclose a \"cracked\" windshield. It appeared to be a \"chip\". If a rock from the road was picked up and hit the windshield causing a \"chip\", this is certainly not something that happened as a result of any negligence on the part of the driver for Tn\'T. This could have easily happened if Mr. Burton was driving his truck from Texas to Ohio himself. This was caused by normal road use, not damage done due to the poor handling of the transport company. Car carriers do not usually pay window damage not caused by driver negligence. This is standard within the transportation industry

Comments I did alot of research prior to selecting a company and I was pretty scared about how this would turn out. There are so many horror stories out there! My story is definitely not a horror story, I received my car the way I left it without any major damage. (there were little scratches here and there that I'd never seen before, but nothing major. I am hoping if I wax the car they will disappear.) The car was delivered 1 day outside of the promised time frame. This fact upset me because it left LA the day I dropped it off and got to Chicago in record time. After that, the car sat in Chicago for 7 full days and then took another 6 full days to go from Chicago to North Carolina. While I understand delays are inevitable, I think there is something to be said for a certain degree of planning, and I don't think it is acceptable to take 13 days to go such a short distance. Katherine, the car 'tracker' was always very informative about where my car was (and friendly), but I still think that TnT should go that extra mile and make sure that cars are not sitting in parking lots. Overall, the people were friendly and the peace of mind was probably worth the extra money.

Comments I was initally drawn to this company because of their customer policies. I felt that if something were to go wrong, that this company would be hassle free and well worth the price. My car arrived in it's same condition three days earlier than expected. My only gripe is that I did not have one consistent representative contacting me and that I never received a phone call at all during the transport to let me know where my car was etc. (it's explicitly stated on the site that a representative will be in phone contact with you). I ended up calling them several times to 'check in'. Also, the day I moved I let both of the company's rep's who were dealing with my shipment know that I would not be able to check email for at leat a week, and that all contact with me should be made via phone. When I did get internet access after my car arrived I found an email or two 'updating' me on my cars shippment. If TNT could improve it's rep's attention to detail, they would be even better and provide a worry free situation for their customers. I'm just glad that I had no real hassles and that my car got here timely and in it's orignal condition.

I started my move with other company, which moved my house stuff, but then it took a whole lot of time for just the car pickup, so I contacted Tn'T and Patti helped me in moving my car as fast as possible. If I would have gone with my previous mover it would have taken 15 -20 days more than when I received my car bcoz of Tn'T. It looks expensive in comparison with other quotes I got, but service is unmatched and I am very happy with that.

I got my car way before my estimated time span.

I especially liked their rental car facility if car does not reach in time.

Comments I was told when booking the transport of my vehicle that my credit card would not be charged until it was picked up at the final destination. I was also told they would to a "test" transaction prior. I have yet to drop off the vehicle at the origin terminal and the ENTIRE fee has already been charged to my credit card causing it to be suspended while the credit card company set up an investigation for fraud. I'm already paying a 30% premium over the competitors to use this transporter. I guess paying more doesn't mean that they are a better company at keeping to their word.

Providers Response Tn'T looked into this order to determine what may have happened to cause the client to be unhappy with Tn'T's service.
It appears the client was initially unhappy with our service because of some confusion over the difference between “pre-authorizing a credit card and actually charging a credit card. Tn’T’s accounting department routinely pre checks the validity of the credit card information of each card submitted. This occurs 1-3 days prior to the actual ship date to provide time for the correction of any data errors. If approved by the bank, the designated amount is “allocated”, but not charged against the client’s account. This allocation merely sets the funds aside for the anticipated future charge.

All of Tn’T’s consultants are trained to advise clients that the credit card will be pre-authorized to confirm the validity of both the card and our information as this client indicated as a “test”. They are to also advise clients that their card will be charged when the vehicle initially comes into our possession.

This information was again passed on to this client both verbally and by email. He proceeded with his shipment as scheduled.

Providers Response Tn’T Auto Transport strives to meet every quoted transit time. However, in situations, which cause delays, Tn’T will make every attempt to keep the client informed in as timely as a manner as possible. Under these unusual circumstances, Tn’T will either put the client in a rental or reimburse the client up to $25.00 a day towards a rental receipt, for each day we exceed our quoted transit time. The client has the choice of choosing either option.

This client’s vehicle was 2 days late. Tn’T offered to put the client in a rental. The client declined this offer since they were not in need of a vehicle. The client had shipped a Chevrolet Avalanche. The client wanted to use this truck for work around his home. Tn’T offered to put the client in a truck so that what work the client had hoped to accomplish could still be done. The client declined this offer. In lieu of this, Tn’T offered a complimentary dinner of their choice for the entire family. The client also declined this offer.

Every attempt was made to keep the client informed regarding the delivery of their vehicle. Tn’T apologizes that the vehicle was late but feels they tried to compensate the client for this service failure.

Providers Response This was a vehicle that Tn’T Auto Transport moved from Chicago to the state of Washington. The vehicle was stored at origin in a secured warehouse. The vehicle was stored under these conditions until it was loaded on an enclosed railcar. It remained under these secured conditions the entire trip. When the vehicle arrived in Washington, it was stored at our terminal inside a locked storage facility, until the vehicle was released to the client. As a result, during the entire time the vehicle was in the care and custody of Tn’T it was never left unsecured.

When the client received their vehicle, they took exceptions to a door lock not working on the passenger side door. When Tn’T investigated this claim, they discovered that unfortunately the client had purchased this vehicle off the Internet and never saw the vehicle until the day they received it.

Our Quality Assurance Department determined that Tn’T was not responsible for this claim. This decision was based on the following reasons:

1) While in the care and custody of Tn’T, the vehicle was never left unsecured.
2) When the vehicle was released to Tn’T in Chicago, there was prior damage that already existed in and around the area near the door lock.
3) Tn’T’s Terms and Conditions indicate “Tn’T is not responsible for claims that include or apply to mechanical, electrical, parts… Transport damage only relates to exterior items inspected at Origin and Delivery”. The reason for this disclaimer is that such parts are not practical for inspection.
4) Tn’T was also concerned that this client never had the opportunity to see this vehicle prior to purchasing it. As a result, the client never was able to see for he or herself that the door locks ever worked.

This is a buyer beware situation. Tn’T strongly cautions clients when purchasing vehicles sight unseen.

Providers Response Tn'T guarantees their transit times. This means that in the event the client's vehicle does not arrive by the last day we had anticipated, Tn'T will put the client in a rental car through Enterprise until the client's vehicle arrive. This client’s vehicle was going to arrive late. The client had been made aware of this during their communication with their Tn'T Transportation Consultant. As a result, Tn'T extended the offer to put the client in a rental at our expense until their vehicle arrived. Unfortunately, the client, due to their age, did not qualify. These are guidelines set by the rental agency, not Tn'T. As an alternative, Tn'T offer to put the client's fiancé in a rental. Originally this request was accepted but later declined. Tn'T next offered to offset any transportation costs the client might incur while waiting for their vehicle to arrive. This offer was also declined. Since this client was unable to take advantage of our rental guarantee, Tn'T had the client's vehicle delivered directly to their home at no expense. The client had originally paid to have their vehicle shipped to one of our local terminals, where they would need to pick it up.

Tn'T apologizes that the client appears to be unhappy with what we were able to do under these circumstances. However, Tn'T feels that in delivering the client's vehicle was a fair alternative to the client not being able to be put in a rental due to their age, which Tn'T had no control over.

Providers Response Tn'T reviewed this order, and saw that there were no complaints made at any time by the client to Tn'T. As a result, Tn'T made an attempt to contact the client to determine what problems they had encountered.
The client acknowledged that they had not contacted Tn'T directly to report any service failures. However, it appears that the client had a problem with both vehicles that he shipped. On one car, there was a missing key and the other vehicle would not start when the client went to pick it up.
Tn'T offered to reimburse the client on the one vehicle, for the key that was missing. The client declined the offer.
On the vehicle that would not start, it appears that the client had less than an 1/8 of a tank of gas when it was released to us. Even though the only driving was to drive the vehicle on and off the carrier, this was still just enough driving to reduce the amount of gas in the gas tank so that when the client picked it up his vehicle it would not start. Tn'T offered to reimburse the client for any gas that they paid for to put into their vehicle. The client declined the offer.

Providers Response Tn'T looked into this order to determine what may have happened to cause the client to be unhappy with Tn'T's service.
It appears the client was unhappy with our service because he had placed this order a month in advance and yet it arrived late.
Tn'T did apolgoize that this vehicle arrived late, especially since the order was placed so far in advance. However, Tn'T gaurantees their transit times. As a result, when the client's car did not arrive on the day Tn'T had promised, Tn'T put the client in a rental at Tn'T's expense until the vehicle did arrive.

Comments The vehicle arrived four days late...BAD. I realized the auto
was going to be late several days prior to the scheduled delivery date from
conversations with TNT. I called TNT to cancel the shipment in order to
make alternate arrangements. The TNT representative told me the vehicle was
in transit and would be there on time. I then contacted the destination
terminal to coordinate the pickup. I was shipping terminal to terminal with
TNT. The destination terminal noted that they were normally notified only
24 hours prior to receipt but offered to call TNT anyway. They called TNT
and found out that the vehicle had not even been moved and would be four or
five days late. I think TNT lied to me...AWFUL. Sure enough on the
scheduled delivery date TNT calls to inform me that the truck with my
vehicle has mysteriously broke down and will be one day late; which turned
into four. More lies? Who knows or cares at this point. I suddenly
realized that I was at the mercy of the company and the vehicle would get
there when it got there. Word to the wise; it's too late after
it's on the trailer.
I read three negative comments about TNT and made the decision to go with
them anyway...STUPID. I read TNT's polished response and felt o.k. about
things. I sincerely hope four negative comments will make someone else's
life a little better. I will seek a carrier that approaches business with
an emphasis on honesty in the future. Please be aware that TNT simply
brokered my shipment to a carrier. If the auto had been damaged I would
have had the pleasure of dealing with a company that I think mislead me
along with a company that I've never heard of. I bet that would have
gone REAL smooth.

Tn'T strives to eliminate as much inconvenience to our clients as possible
in the rare occurrence a shipment is late. Towards this goal, Tn'T
pioneered the on-time delivery guarantee program backed up by an
Enterprise rental car at Tn'T expense until the shipment is delivered.
Tn'T strives to maintain a proactive dialog with our clients regarding
shipment status updates. The Transportation Consultant managing Mr.
Sweet's shipment notified him on 4/23 the vehicle was still at the origin
terminal.
The truck transporting Mr. Sweet's shipment experienced mechanical
difficulties, which were promptly relayed to Mr. Sweet. Tn'T, at no time
attempted to mislead Mr. Sweet regarding the accurate status of his
vehicle. By Mr. Sweet's own admission; "I realized the auto was going to be late
several days prior to the scheduled delivery date from conversations with
Tn'T", we attempted to keep him promptly informed about the status of his
shipment.
The Transportation Consultant managing Mr. Sweet's shipment offered to
compensate Mr. Sweet for any inconvenience. Tn'T offered to place our
client into an Enterprise rental car at Tn'T expense with all invoicing
being billed direct to Tn'T. Additionally, we offered a free delivery.
Mr. Sweet refused to accept either offer as compensation for the four (4) day
delay.

Service at Destination - again was excellent. The drop off location was
closed for the weekend (that is something that I would like to see
changed..the hours at the drop off location were very limited..they should
at least be available for pick up on Saturday). But the trucker went far
beyond what he needed to do and spent the time to reach a dispacher (it was
late Friday afternoon), then release the car directly to my daughter...very
special thanks to the driver for helping out.

Overall experience was excellent

I choose Tnt because the customer Service agent (Christina) did a great job of explaining your service, was patient, and was very responsive with a

THEY ALSO LEFT AN 8 INCH SCRATCH ON THE FRONT RS FENDER PLUS ON THREE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS THEY LEFT NUMEROUS CHIPS. Providers Response On the rare occasion when things do not go well, Tn’T is still there to do what is right. Tn’T will always objectively evaluate each claim made and will always pay claims that have merit.
An independent adjuster was assigned to handle this claim. Some of the alleged damage was determined to be pre-existing. The original estimate for compensation was approximately $2,900. This customer was asking for: (1) Actual transportation related damages which Tn’T paid in the amount of $638. (2) Compensation for repairs on pre-existing damages as determined by an independent adjuster, which Tn’T did not pay. (3) Reimbursement for delay/service failure which Tn’T paid in the amount of $200. (4) Reimbursement of entire freight charges which Tn’T did not pay.
It should be noted that the delay in picking up the vehicle at origin was because the shipper (from whom this customer purchased the car) decided to winterize the purchased vehicle before it was shipped. This pick up was planned for Oct. 25th or 26th. Due to winterization, it was not ready until the morning of the 27th. Trucks have a very specific schedule and when a change occurs such as this, an entire network of changes must be made in order to compensate. Tn’T immediately made this adjustment and had the vehicle picked up by a different truck and driver.

• It should also be noted that the customer’s original demand for compensation included the following quote:
"To conclude, I am seeking the full amount on my damage to my car while under your and your agents care. I am also seeking a compensation for having my car an extra seven days while I worried about exactly in what condition and where it was when I asked for its position. In order for me to write a positive feedback to www.howwerate.com and not tell all my fellow classic cars owners of the negative experience with your company on the www.britishñsteel.org or to the members of the clubs that I belong to namely the Jensen Healey Preservation Society at www.Jensenhealey.com and the Austin Healey club at www.healey.org I also seek a full refund for all moving fees charged.”

• Tn’T will always objectively evaluate each claim made and will always pay claims that have merit. Tn’T will never succumb to unmeritorious claims or threats.

• This is a perfect example in order to illustrate that as a customer looking for the best in vehicle relocation, one should select a freight-forwarder and not a company that owns its own trucks nor a broker (for more info see Definitions you should know).

• Tn’T’s traffic management department continuously monitors the service level of its carriers. Unfortunately, our vendor failed to provide the level of service expected. It should be clearly understood that as a freight forwarder, Tn’T compensated our customer (unlike a broker) despite the carrier’s position on the matter. The carrier is no longer an approved service provider for Tn’T. As demonstrated, a shipper is actually protected when utilizing a freight forwarder like Tn’T, Inc.

• This customer also provided information on Custom Tow, the company with whom Tn’T contracted to transport this vehicle. The foregoing response addresses complaints made on both postings since the customer contracted with Tn’T, not Custom Tow. This customer’s personal experience with Custom Tow, provides proof that dealing directly with a carrier who owns their own trucks does not guarantee that a shippers claim will be resolved to satisfaction or at all for that matter. As the customer states “they (Custom Tow) refused to pay”.

The other payoff was that I received a very reasonable quote and got outstanding service from TnT. Andrea Betts was exceptional in her customer service role. She was courteous, competent, and always accessible. If everyone at the company is like Andrea, you can be sure you'll be dealing with someone who wants you to be thrilled with the service you receive.
Although my car was picked up two days after initially scheduled, I was assured it would still be delivered on time. Actually, it arrived a day ahead of the delivery window, and in perfect condition. Awesome!

My experience, before they failed to deliver the car on time, had been very good. The representative of the company was very professional and courteous. Even after we discovered that the car was not going to be delivered in time, they were very helpful in getting us a rent a car at a reduced rate from ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR.

Comments I was first impressed by the staff's customer service on the phone. They were both kind and efficient.
My car was picked up and delivered very close to the times TN'T gave me. However, when my car arrived there was a little more than $500.00 worth of damage done to the front of the vehicle.
As a television journalist, my colleagues and I receive numerous consumer complaints from viewers who feel companies are "out to get them". They also feel they do not have a voice and that a company will not put the customers' needs first. This often is the case. However, when I, as a consumer, voiced my concerns to TN'T and gave them the estimates for fixing the damage to my vehicle, they were very accommodating. There was an issue with my not meeting their deadline to file the request for reimbursement. When I explained my situation to Gary Gioia, the Director of Quality Assurance, he graciously gave me a grace period. I was very grateful for that and very impressed with his professional and helpful attitude. Both my husband and I have professions that require us to move around the nation often. My next move, I will confidently hire TN'T again because of their excellent customer service.

Comments My car was picked up from Seattle, WA on July 30th, 2001 which was a pleasureable experience. BUT my car which was suppose to be delivered on August 12th, 2001 in California NEVER ARRIVED. IT WAS SHIPPED TO CHICAGO. The explanation was the people responsible for delivering my car shipped my car which was the same as another one in their possession (let me say I have Hawaii license plates on my vehicle) to Chicago. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A HUFGE MISTAKE COULD
HAPPEN! Granted, TNT pays for a rent a car which was in itself not a convenient process. And of course, TNT expects the same full payment they quoted me. It has been 21 days and my car is still not in my possession. Anyone have any suggestions about eliminating or reducing the cost of the shipment of my car?

Providers Response As a Long Distant Transport Provider we are constantly dealing with a myriad of unique customer shipping orders. At times what should be routine turns out to be, not so routine. When an isolated non-routine incident occurs we are hard pressed and driven to rectify the situation. We quickly assess the problem and implement what we call CPR (Company Protocol Review). In this particular case we quickly determined the needs of the customer and took steps to satisfy them as quickly as possible. CPR revealed that the need for an upgrade in auto rental allowances along with monetary compensation for the delay in shipment was in order. We provided the customers with a larger vehicle to transport their luggage, and, to make their inconvenience more bearable, we offered a gracious discount in delivery fees. The customers happily accepted. Tn’T accepted total responsibility and straight-lined the administrative process to bring about quick and complete satisfaction to the customer.
